Mike’s Story
I didn’t start thinking about my own gender expression and masculinities until after I met Mike. At the time, she was the Youth Director of a LGBTQA youth group in Greenville, South Carolina. Our meeting was brief because she left the position two weeks after I joined the group, but I’d say that her influence has stuck with me. Even now, Mike still is someone I look up to in the queer community.
