Salad in a Jar!

Another amazing picnic idea! Also great for work or school lunches. As long as your dressing doesn’t touch the lettuce, these salads will stay fresh in the fridge for 4 or 5 days!

I do this for class and work all the time. My mom loves mason jars so she has bunches and they are amazing to use.

Mmmm that looks so good.

This morning’s brunch menu:
Mini (cupcake) quiches! Filled with goat cheese, portabello mushrooms, and lots of garlic!
Blueberry, banana pancakes
Peach infused mimosas
Don’t worry, it’s okay to be food jealous.

Lunch

monday, monday, monday love lunch* of avocado, mango, tomato sushi rolls
Btw, that’s my handy work above! I also wanted to share a short excerpt about love lunches that came to mind while making this.

“Remember when you used to pack those lunches for Milli in the brown paper bags with those little red hearts on them?”
“How did you know that?” I asked. “Did the other girls tease her about it?”
“Hell no,” Edwin said. “They were jealous. You made it hard on the rest of us butches. We all had to start packing ‘love lunches.’

Mango, Brie, Caramelized Onion Pockets. I am a culinary goddess.

This was super delicious and I know it might be a sacrilege in Mallory’s eyes, but I still want to try this combo with goat cheese.

In Like a Lion (makes 1) 1 1/2 oz of your favorite Gin or Whiskey 1 glass of ice 1 good quality Ginger Ale, such as Boylan’s 1/8 of a Blood Orange (regular oranges are fine too) Mint, optional
Squeeze the juice out of one section of orange into a glass with as much or as little ice as you like. If using mint, crush a few leaves between your fingers and add to the glass. Top with alcohol of choice and fill with ginger ale. Garnish with the same orange wedge.
I encourage you to try it both ways at least once–we originally thought the gin would be better but ended up preferring the whiskey.
~ Note the above comment, kernelsandseeds “encourages” you to try both ways at least once or twice, or five times until you really know which one you prefer…ha! Nice. Love learning new things……

this is literally the perfect drink
